client froze in champ select, 5v5 normal draft

I was waiting for summoner 2 on the opposing team to select their champ and the timer hit 0. I was still in the room for about 10-15 seconds then I was kicked out and it said I failed to select a champ. I did not even get the option to lock in my champ and I'm waiting now for my punishment timer to run down. I hope this isn't going to happen often!!!
