Cannot reconnect to games

I recently had a game where I had to restart my computer to fix some retarded wifi problems. When I tried to log back in to the lol client, I just got a window saying "game is still in progress" without a reconnect option. I can't find a way to get back to the load screen. Is there any way to reconfigure the client so that I will have the reconnect button visible?
