Correcting blatant stereoscopic 3D rendering issues
Summoner's Rift looks incredible with 3D Vision turned on. League of Legends is already a beautiful game, but with the depth of stereoscopic 3D, the graphics are taken to another level. I would play every game in 3D, if it weren't for a small problem: certain on screen elements such as health bars are rendered at the wrong depth. Instead of being displayed over the champion or minion's head in the 3-dimensional world, the bars are rendered at screen depth with the rest of the HUD. This makes the game essentially unplayable, because the eyes can't focus on the health bars and the game world at the same time while they are at dramatically different depths.
I am requesting that a future patch adjust the 3D rendering depth of health bars. I know it has been done in other games such as Starcraft 2. I think the number of people who would be interested in this change is probably on the order of thousands if not tens of thousands of LoL fans. With the upcoming VR headsets like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, a functioning 3D option would likely make LoL even more popular (as well as give it an extra feature to differentiate it from competitors). The change wouldn't even have to affect the pro scene; it could just be introduced to casual custom games or AI bot games, or as a toggle switch in the options..
Actually I have a 2nd request: please increase HUD scalability so that those playing with DSR at 4K resolutions on 1440p monitors don't have tiny HUDs. Thanks!
