All hot keys stop working.

Hello, this is my first post and looking through the archives I have not seen a fix to stop this from reoccurring. Google has shown me at least 5 posts going back to 2010. Looking through this board I see several posts regarding Q, but my post is about all hot keys.

Since the start of the match I would not be able to use the standard hot keys. I can re-map them during the game but only to Space, Comma, and Period, almost all the keys I press while trying to remap will not be accepted. While this gives me a few skills or items to use it is impracticable and I cannot use items, etc. Also toggle / always on abilities will not work, Ashe's cold arrows or Teemo's poison. The poison icon just stays dark even after I put in skill points. Heros I remember it happening on: Teemo, Riven, Ashe, Twisted Fate, and Jinx.

I have only been playing for a few months but I would say this is at least my tenth time where I cannot use the keys. Finishing the game and starting a new one does 'fix' the problem but obviously it comes back. I have tried to exit and/or force close during the game and come back but the keys still do not work. I am using a standard keyboard plugged into a usb slot. I have also tried it in other usb slots as well, no change.
