Pretty much title. I haven't played Ahri in like 2 weeks, tried it her today and noticed this thing. If you hit charm on someone and die while the target is still charmed, it cleanses it. I don't think it is supposed to work like that, I am pretty sure that did not happen before.

I believe it is supposed to do that, actually. Because you're charmed BY Ahri, and when she's dead there's no one to be charmed by. Taunts do the same thing -- if the source of the taunt dies, the taunt breaks.
Charms, fears, and taunts all work like this. Examples: 
dies, nothing to be attracted to. 
dies, nothing to run away in fear from. 
dies, nothing there taunting you to attack.
Well there is a bug when she dies , her Q gets cancelled sometimes
