Discord causes the game to be unplayable

Discord causes my client to become unplayable. You cannot move, type, click anything and will cause people to report you for AFK.

You have to close discord completely to play.

Probably a problem with your discord. Have you tried disabling the overlay?

Discord Settings > Overlay > Enable In-game Overlay off. Should be good. Riot is having issues with this right now.

I've heard about that bug, I'm pretty sure it has to do with Discord's in-game overlay. You should be able to disable it within the discord options menus. That way you can continue to use voice chat without losing control of your character.
