Black Screen During Champ Select

I can queue for a game and then when a game is found and everyone accepts the match, instead of going to a champion select screen my screen goes black except for at the bottom of the screen (I can still send messages and view notifications). I feel as if the champion select is going on without me because if I wait long enough I get kicked from the lobby and sent back to the main home screen with a message saying I have been removed from the queue because I failed to select a champion. This started a few days before the new champion select was released and even after the release the same thing is happening. If I go to team builder, the screen to select a champion will not load. I tried restarting my computer, this did not help. I tried re installing league of legends, this did not help either. It seems other people have been having this problem as well (some being posted up to a few years ago) but no solutions have been posted.
