Cannot install LoL on 2018 Mac Mini w/Mojave

I've been playing lol for somewhere around 8 years. The last 5 on an iMac (except for those few months where Mac lol went away). Yesterday I brought home my new Mac mini - came to download the game, and the installer seems to fail. I get the black/dark green box that does nothing. I let it sit for hours - nothing. Hextech repair does nothing except uninstall. I've tried every similarly worded resolution on the boards - but nothing seems to work.

Anyone?

Just plug in a Microphone, and the client will launch.

Wish I had read this before ordering mine >< I'm having the same issue too. The client seems to boot in safe mode though (holding shift when turning Mac on) ....just can't actually play since safe mode doesn't let openGL run.... It's just so bizarre, something that safe mode disables is clearly what's preventing the game from loading properly on a normal boot. Wish I could figure out what it was though.

Hopefully this info can help someone else along.

Not sure if you still have the issue but make sure that your hard drive format is not "Case-Sensitive". You can check your disk format in Disk Utility.

Hope that helps.. There are actually quite a few issues with LoL on MacOS but Riot never responds to mac related threads.

Just tried again with the new patch and exact same issue. Would love to get any kind of response on this.

I just tried to install yesterday with the same issues as you. Opened a ticket and unfortunately got this response:

It seems the problem with the Mac Mini's are still happening as a result of the hardware's limitations, and players attempting to use them will not be able to run League at this time. I hate to give bad news, but if you happen to have any further questions please let me know.

Hi, Same problem here. Just got my new Mac Mini today and downloaded the latest version installer but just like you said, it is a gray box that won't install anything. Let me know once it is fixed. best

Have you tried installing Windows 10 on the Mac Mini and playing the game through Windows?

WTF!!! I waited 2 months for a fix. The support told me they cannot do anything about it... Good job Riot Games...

Same here, I've been using my laptop for 10 years and it has been getting worse and worse. Just bought a new mac mini looking forward to some LoL, but whenever I open it, it's just a white screen that does nothing. Interesting things was that I played a few games before I couldn't launch it anymore. Any solutions?

My mac mini is new but only has 2GB of ram. I run only Lol when playing and have 10.14.2 running it. It won't load sometimes and other times it does. It drops me in patching often so I get punished in "leave buster" when it does. Riot seems to want to dance around the issue and gives useless advice other then....maybe get a PC or run virtual PC on your machine. They do not seem to want to support mac users and I don't expect them to fix this issue....ever. Looks like League is headed for the ash bin....js.

I just came across this and tried the headphone trick, thanks for the idea. Sadly, I was unable to get it to work using both wired and bluetooth headphones.

When I open my client I end up looking at a launcher with a blank loading bar and no information (see screenshot here https://imgur.com/a/TUfyQ4q). It just sits there forever, never resolving. I've re-installed, ran hextech, cleared out configs, pinged servers, you name it... nothin.

I've been working through this issue with support, but we haven't come to a resolution.

If anyone else has any ideas, it'd be really great to hear them. At this point I'm just trying to play the game.
