Malphite's W passive effect is not working as intended
I am a season-5 AD Malphite main in training. Malphite's W is amazing, however the area of effect passive seems to hit in a cone (semi-circle?) IN FRONT of Malphite rather than as a circle around the target he is hitting (like hydra (which I build every game)).
AD Malphite is very strong and is easily capable of ulting to the backline of an enemy team to dispatch multiple targets (as many as you can hit with your ult) in just two auto attacks.

The rest is fluff:
Grab an red jungle enchant, IE, Zeal, and Hydra. Have ~360ad (pre w)
Activate W, achieving ~500 AD Ult onto as many people as you can Right click once, potentially dealing a 1250 damage crit to the target, and up to 122% (Hydra + W(passive)= 60%+ 62%) of that damage (1525 damage) to nearby enemies (also caught in your ultimate). That's over 1k damage to everyone who got knocked up. Activate Hydra (another ~500 damage aoe) Get off a second auto attack before your ulti CC ends (another potential 1250 crit, and 1500 aoe) Probably get off a THIRD auto while the enemy ADC changes their underwear (easy if you have attack speed)
Assuming 3 autos, here's the damage calculation depending on crits. (ignoring armor) Splash calculated as [auto-damage]*1.22 + 500 (hydra active)
On the target, with NO crits, this combo deals a base amount (before armor) of 1500 from autos, and 500 from hydra = 2000 damage With splash up to 2330 damage (dependent on hydra distance, minimum of 1640 near the edge (min 20%)
With one crit, this damage is increased to 2250 from autos, and 500 from hydra = 2750 damage With splash up to 3245 damage
With two crits (RNGesus be praised) we're talking 3000 from autos, and 500 from hydra = 3500 With splash up to 4160 damage
And theoretically, 3 consecutive crits would deal 3750 from autos, and 500 from hydra = 4250 With splash up to 5075 damage
Unfortunately, malphite's 62% passive splash damage off of his W is inconsistent and difficult to set up in situations where the player is standing on top of multiple enemies :(
