Heimer not procing Spellsthief

Howdy. I was playing Heimer support with my premade and the turrets were not procing the spellthief passive. I could only get the gold by using my w,e or aa. It was a bit annoying but somehow came out with an S in the end. Could have been much richer if I had the procs go off.
