Can't Connect to server when i try to start a game

Okay so I had just recently gotten Talon right? and I thought "hmmm, maybe i want to play my brand new champ?" so I tried to start a game. I got my lane and my team was just great, people were just laughing and having a good time! Well as soon as we "go to the loading screen" my screen just stays black, then after a few seconds, I get "Unable to connect to server, Retry" (summarized version on my notification) so i was like "oh, okay maybe something just went wrong real quick, not gonna bother the game," and i hit retry. I've done that now for about 10 minutes and I can't connect. I even restarted my computer and i can't connect. Hell, I even took down my firewalls just to play and it still won't work. Now I screwed my team over because for some reason, I'm unable to connect to the riot servers. Someone help plz. (I'm playing on a mac btw)
