Minding my business in my plat series, and i play with this iron 1 player twice in arow, his profile on op.gg and client reflect iron 1. He is still actively playing games and going against diamonds. how is this possible?
New Ranked system is flawed.
The new ranked system places new players and smurfs in Iron, no matter their MMR. As a smurf you will still be matched with people of your skill and you will get a really high amount of LP/skip divisions more often now so you can get to your actual rank. So don’t be surprised if you see Iron smurfs in your ranked games from now on.
If you didn't play ranked in season 8, riot is placing you in iron 4 regardless of your mmr. You could literally be rank 1 challenger in season 7, not play for season 8, and you'd be placed in iron 4 currently. I played my placements with plats/diamonds, won em, got put in iron 4.
Riot said these players could message them and they would fix their accounts.
Could be that they were plat two seasons ago, only played 8 ranked last season, got back to playing consistently, but just placed really low because the reset was extremely hard for most people
Iron doesn't seem to be working properly, i won 2 out of 8 games in placements and got placed iron 3 i'm now gaining 30 lp for a win and losing 10 for a loss
