So, yeah. They were invisible apart from the red outline that trails them.

Yeah, it's an input bug that affects multiple projectiles. Riot has been aware of it for a long time. Years maybe. But they can't figure it out.
Not just headhunter. All nidalee skins, anivia, mundo and probably others.
