Pinging Malz ult when cancelled

I was just playing a game as Malzahar and I attempted to ult an Akali but she used her shroud and cancelled it. I tried pinging my ult to tell my teammates that its on cooldown, but it showed that my ult was ready and not on cooldown.

This is what occurred

1. Akali ulted the Jhin on my team
2. I used my ult on her
3. Akali cancelled it with her shroud
4. My ult went on Cooldown
5. I pinged my ult
6. The chat stated that my ult was ready
