Game Abandoned; Please reconnect... unable to reconnect.

So there I was enjoying my first couple of games of League, have an absolute whale of a time thrashing nubs after coming from DoTA 2...

My last game that lasted over an hour and was super close, intense and all kinds of epic glitched out on me. I'd held tab to see the end scores as the enemy's Nexus was exploding and coming out of the game, the endgame stats screen was not loading, I thought nothing of it and skipped and moved on. As me and my friend that I'd previously queued with queued for another game, waiting 20 minutes for a Jungler to be queued with us in Team Builder. We found a game... as the game booted up, it black screened, closed down and I got an error report saying "Error connecting to game" after there being no indication of my client actually attempting to connect to the game in the first place, now every time I log in - which has been occurring for the past 45-60 minutes, I'm greeted with the "Abandoned Game" window on my client that prompts me to reconnect to the game. After multiple sessions of furiously clicking the "Reconnect to Game" button to no avail, I've given up after trying many solutions that I've found on numerous forums.

I've seen things on forums where it seems to sort itself out rather quickly for most people and that it's just a "Ghost Game" incident that is quite common. My friend which this has also happened to informed me that this had never happened to him in his several years of playing the game, and as I am just starting now, it's quite a disheartening thing.

TL;DR: Finished epic game, stats screen failed to load after several minutes, attempt to queue for another game, after a long wait for the last player the game boots up and instantly closes, greeted with error message of failing to connect to the game.

I sincerely hope that this will "sort itself out" within the next hour as I would really like to get on with leveling my summoner and having a good time with my friends.

Apologies for the long post to any potential Riot employees/readers, but I thought being as thorough as I could may make for better chances at finding a solution for this dilemma, and for any that comment with solutions that have worked for them (that don't involve waiting out the timeout or whatever this is), I thank you in advance.
