Launcher sometimes fails to load game
I have been having an occasional issue (not every game) where I will be in champ select and the launcher goes to start a game but the process for the game immediately says it is not responding. If I force close the game from task manager and reconnect from the launcher, the same thing happens. I never even get to see the game, it's minimized in my tray and says not responding while I'm looking at my desktop. The only "fix" I've found is to reboot my computer entirely. Unfortunately, when I try to reboot from the start menu after this happens, it will hang (even if I end the league process) so I must hard reboot by holding down the power button for 5 seconds. After my computer reboots I am able to launch the game and reconnect normally, until the next time this randomly happens.
Things I have tried: running as administrator running directly from the exe (not shortcut) running in compatibility mode (7, 8, & XPsp3) Hextech repair tool reinstalling league upgrading/downgrading display drivers reinstalling display drivers (also tried DDU) white listing league in firewall: LeagueClient.exe, LeagueClientUx.exe, LeagueClientUxRenderer.exe, League of Legends.exe disabling firewall installing league to a different HDD/SSD swapped/reseated ram reinstalling windows
My computer: OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (winver 1903 Build 18362.476) CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1900x GPU: NVidia GeForce GTX980 (GeForce Game Ready Driver 441.20) RAM: 2x 8GB GSkill Trident Z DDR4 43200MHz Motherboard: Asus ROG Zenith Extreme (BIOS version 0902)
I don't know how to diagnose what the problem is, as there is no error message. I was occasionally getting direct x errors on other games, but I would think reinstalling windows entirely would have fixed the problem. I only reinstalled the bare minimum programs when I reinstalled windows; Chrome, Steam, Discord, Razer Synapse, and League.
(Just to be clear this is not the same issue that some people are having right now where the game loads to 100% and then silently crashes and you can't alt-tab or alt-f4. That has happened to me, but it is easily fixed by opening the task manager in my second monitor, force closing league, then hitting reconnect.)
Edit: I found something interesting in the windows event viewer at the time of my last crash. I will try uninstalling Razer Synapse.
The description for Event ID 0 from source Razer Chroma SDK Server cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

Edit: After uninstalling Razer Synapse I thought I had fixed it, but after playing 5 games of ARAM today and then taking a lunch break (without closing the client or changing or doing anything else on my computer) the next game I played would not launch. I was able to get a crash log (unfortunately too large to put in pastebin) and problem details from windows.
A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows. A quick google for AppHangB1 shows one result where someone in 2013 had to run the league client in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3, which I have already tried.
Edit: Not sure why I didn't consider this sooner, but I have downgraded my display driver to 440.97 from oct 22nd. I will check back when this doesn't work either. Edit: This did not fix the issue. After I experienced this again I closed league and tried to open Steam. Steam did not even attempt to open itself. The task manager was completely barren of anything steam related. I clicked Steam about a million times. Tried right clicking and "open", nothing. Tried running it as administrator, nothing. All I got was my mouse pointer had the little thinking icon on it for a fraction of a second after I clicked Steam, but Steam never even tried to show up on the task manager. I tried to google "steam not opening" but every article and video says to try opening the task manager and closing steam. There are no applications in the task manager related to steam (I've seen bootstrapper get stuck before, but that is not the problem here). I have uninstalled league of legends since I haven't heard anything from support at all, even just an acknowledgement that they got my bug report. I guess it's just gone into the void now. I've disabled PhysX from using GPU and put it on the CPU instead. This did not help. Good luck everyone else with this issue, I hope y'all figure it out.
edit: Fixed? I had an xbox controller plugged in to my computer which I believe was the cause of this issue. I have unplugged the controller and have not experienced the issue as of yet, although a lot more testing is required.
