Friends List not updating in client

Sometimes it takes up to 5 minutes for my friends list to finally update.

It'll tell me that my friends are in games when they definitely aren't. Example: I see a friend is ain a 33 minute game as I'm going into champ select, when I finally finish my game and check their status, it'll say they are STILL in that game and that it is going 75 minutes.

It'll tell me a friend is offline when they are telling me they are online.

So I guess my client has troubles updating friends' status. It's getting really annoying.
