Was playing a game as Gankplank and realized that Fiona was reflecting my Parrrley's damage back at me. Riposte says parries basic attack so there is definitely something wrong with that skill, or Parrley somehow became a basic attack???
Parrley counts as a basic attack because it applies on hit effects. It's damage is also blocked by Pantheon's Passive, has it's damage reduced by Ninja Tabi, and has damage reflected by Thornmail.
It has always counted as a basic attack. Think about it, it crits and applies on-hit effects.
It says in the flavor text that it counts as a basic melee attack.
