Relic shield and mordekaiser

So... I was playing a custom game with a few friends and something really weird happened. I was playing mordekasier and killed my friend using Children of the Grave. I then proceeded to kill some minions that were in lane. I had a relic shield in my inventory and when i killed a minion the ghost on I had gotten from using Children of the Grave had received the benefits from the relic shield. To simplify, when i used one of the stacks of the Relic Shield, the ghost had gotten money from the relic shield affect and gave him money. If anyone else feels like trying it out by all means please do and let me know if it happened to you.
