Why can't I turn on the league client? Or really, play league of legends at all?

Hello LOL community, I have encountered a problem that has persisted for over a week now. Every time I attempt to open the league client, I get an error message saying that the "PVP.net Patcher Kernel has stopped working." Please, if anyone out their (including you Riot developers) has a solution to this problem, please reply. Riot developers, please fix this problem as soon as possible.
