GAMEPLAY Talon's Q doesnt make his blades from his ult go to the enemy???

I was playing Talon jungle so learn more about that champion and a few times when i go onto a champion the combo i use is; Rake>Shadow Assault>Noxian Diplomacy (W>R>Q) but as a jungler i use challenging smite before i use my combo to get most out of it but when i use Noxian Diplomacy after shadow assault non of the blades moved to the champion i hit and talon's ult says "Breaking invisibility with a basic attack or Noxian Diplomacy, Noxian Diplomacy causes the blades to converge to his target instead." BUT in this video i used smite after becoming invisible and when i used Noxian Diplomacy on Gangplank the blades come back to me instead.
