[[MAJOR]] Updates destroy files, yet goes unchecked until in game

How come I always get this luck, when loading into ranked games. I just find this very annoying and I know I am not the only one who has had this happen. Basically when the game patches (like it did today with patch 5.2) sometimes it has some bizarre assets that cause everything to go haywire and open up 20 tabs (not exaggerating) of how to reinstall league. Is there any way you guys could maybe put a "test client" button or just automatically do it, instead of punishing people for something that was caused by the client? (sorry for the brevity i am doing this while patching and loading into aforementioned ranked game)
