Launching Bug

After the update yesterday, when i click launch, the log in screen did not show up. After i waited for 5 mins without anything came up, i click on the icon on the desktop again, but the only thing that i saw, was the black screen and it said another program is running at the same time. Can anyone tell me what's that problem? and how can i fix it? Thank you
