I got this bug three time in the past 2 month. I log into the client and it starts scanning files to update. However, the scanning never ends and the counters keeps going up. The first time I encountered it, it went to several thousands before I closed the client. I can't give steps to reproduce it. It seems to be rare. The only way to fix it is by re-installing lol.

Having that problem right now. I hit 5k and decided to see if restarting would help... IT DID NOT. I refuse to re-install it. :/ I had to do this once before this past month.
IT JUST HAPPENED TO ME RIGHT AFTER I GOT THE FIREWALL ERROR AND HAD TO RESTART CLIENT IN A PROMO SERIES. FUCK THE CLIENT
I've had this problem for a couple months now. Every single time there's an update or even a small change, it has to check every single file. It usually gets to about 8.5k and then starts the update. Takes about 20 min though.. -_-
how can u fix that? i'm having the same problem atm!
Try leaving it there for about an hour. It SHOULD finish in that time. I did this and it seemed to work for me. Not sure if it works for everyone though, but it appears to just have been checking all the files. probably just does this every once in a while.
