Just as the title states, my Sophos Anti-Virus is detecting the new league patch as a virus and shows this --> Patching failed and we're not sure why. Please restart the client to try patching again. (Error code 004).
It comes up as a Trojan... never happened before, so I'm wondering what's going on.
Real response - get rid of Sophos and switch to Avast/McAfee. Worked a lot better for me

Not the first time lol has been found to throw malware at you, although it is possible that the antivirus is just bullshitting, however if you have had it for a while then it is probably telling the truth. My avast is fine with lol's patch.

You don't even need to use antivirus. If you have good brain and you have good knowledge on internet, then having antivirus is just pointless. I don't have it for 3 years and still didn't caught a single trojan,etc. Only some minor pup which are easily removed.

Same problem. Uninstalled Sophos, Initiated full Repair, and back in the game. Of course not before I lose LP for leaving a ranked game... Amazing.

Hello summoners! Can ANYONE from riot offer some help, I updated league on my friends computer, it has AVAST and it didn't bother patching, I have sophos, and it wont let me patch, so please, please, please, help. Please. [sg-lulu]
Yeah,it would be great if Riot contacted Sophos about this,cause i just talked about this with a support during live chat and she told me to fuck off and contact technical support,which i cba to talk with them for a week to fix this issue,i tried to put league as an exception,but that didnt work,and she didnt even try to help me with that,so yeah.
For those who still having this issue, add the league of legends.exe as an exception in the sophos dashboard. On my pc the route for the exception was "C:\Riot Games\League of Legends\RADS\projects\lol_game_client\releases\0.0.1.174\deploy\League of Legends.exe". This is a temporary fix, and i hope riot and sophos can work this issue out.

I have the same problem. I also have Sophos and my client is reporting the same error. I even downloaded the Hextec Repair tool as suggested in LoL support, but error is still popping up :/
