[CLIENT] Getting Error 003 on patching attempt

Getting a Error 003 on attempting to patch.

I've tried all solutions (except the VPN one) from these threads:

Tried 'Force repatch' ticked & unticked in the Hextech Repair tool, as well as using public DNS & auto assigned, & disabled firewall ticked/unticked

I'd kept the league client open overnight (left the PC on) which has caused some minor issues with the client before in the event that a patch becomes available.

Am willing to share logs (if they don't reveal sensitive info of course)

Id prefer to keep my settings so i havent re installed the client yet. Any other possible fixes?

EDIT: I should mention i havent tried the VPN solution since most free VPNs require credit card details & i cant be arsed to cancel it, get the app's owner to remove my details from their database indefinitely, etc etc.

EDIT2: Seems we have a development, after leaving the client open with the error msg up for about 10 minutes the client has started the patch. Mind you the patch is around 3GB. Not sure if its a big patch or the Hextech tool has removed my previous patches or something but it seems to be making progress.

EDIT2: The patch has finished downloading, im able to login now but unable to get into the lobby, still getting a Error 003.

EDIT3: Seems to be working ok now, after waiting a couple hours after the patch downloaded seems the bugs been fixed.

A side note, not sure if the problem was addressed because of people posting in this forum or the issue just resolved itself. If it were because of the forum posts it would've been nice to at least get some acknowledgement of the problem so that people dont get so enraged..
