Kindred mask on death?

While I was playing a match of Aram today using Fiora . When I died and saw the mask of the new champing coming Kindred. I have no clue if this is a bug or put in on purpose by riot.

This is on purpose as it is to tease Lamb and Wolf coming.

I think it happens if you die under certain circumstances. I've only had it happen twice, with once each for the two different masks. I definitely agree it's a spoiler - perhaps for people that log in and don't read the articles?

It's purposeful. But I usually see it when I die after a team mate or after a enemy I have killed usually when I see it.

Yeah I had the same think pop up when I was playing Ahri , Maybe its a marketing thing?
