[GAMEPLAY] Smite not doing full damage on baron nashor

Last game our elise smited baron at 749 hp but it dropped it to 2 hp, they stole it and we proceeded to lose the game... Our elise was lvl 13, so smite should have done 760 dmg to baron, but it only did 747, I can't figure out why this happened and wondering if it's just a bug or some weird unlucky baron thing.
