it's not worth it you have to get two tokens then after that 500 blue essence which would be find by I haven't got a key for 3 weeks now because riot has a stupid key system to bring down your drop rate which is stupid I only get keys for the first 5 days of a month then the rest of the time nothing and its bs.

If you're short on blue essence and aren't getting enough keys to open chests, you can buy a random champion shard for 1700 IP in the store. You might get the champion shard you need, but if you don't you can disenchant it for blue essence.

What game mode were you playing? You can only earn the mastery tokens when playing normal or ranked Summoner's Rift. So if you were playing ARAM, Twisted Treeline, or any of the rotating game modes, that is why you did not earn a token.
