Rumble's ult being blown away by yas wind wall

so i ulted over my head and yas threw his wind wall at about the edge of the rumble ult, the equalizer proceeded to be dropped about a second later 1000 units further away (about 1.5x caits auto range) from where i placed it and the wind wall. not sure how the wind wall is supposed to affect the ult but having it drop 1000 units away is probably not supposed to happen. Hope you guys figure it out. thx :)
