Playing a game yesterday as Kench support and Anivia got caught out and as i went to grab her the animation fully went through and she showed up above my head but then all of a sudden she tuned into egg form and was on the ground.

DoT effects continue to tick while you've eaten them, so if she was killed while she was in your stomach, her passive pops. Since Eggnivia may be coded as a different champion, she drops out of your stomach.
Eggnivia does some weird stuff, and could probably use a clarity update; some tethers are broken (Urgot ult), others are not (Malzahar ult). Some channels end (Anivia's ult), some continue (hilariously, Teleport). Some revives take place before her passive (Guardian Angel, Chronoshift), some after (Omen of Death, Children of the Grave).
