DirectX Error Help

Hello Riot Community, I just recently started a ranked solo queue and received the following error before the loading screen appeared:

"An unknown DirectX error has occurred and League of Legends cannot start. Please make sure your video card is using the latest video drivers from the manufacturer."

I was able to reconnect much later into the game thanks to a tip from the community but I sadly cost my team the game due to the disconnecting from the game. But my video drivers are quite up to date and it would be helpful if I could have some help to prevent this from ever happening again so I don't cost my teammates LP or games. I honestly want to avoid bans for this too because I honestly wanted to play. Thank you so much in advance for any help given.
