Ezreal W animation off

Has anyone else noticed that Ezreal's W (Essence Flux) animation seems to fade before the actual spell is complete? Ive noticed on numerous occasions that the champ will just be out of reach of the animation and then ill see the spell affects splash on their model after it fades. Ill play more later and see if i can Gif what im talking about, until then has any else noticed this?
