Hey Riot staff! I was just wondering about that I main Gnar, and I have Mastery Level 6 with him. I have 3 mastery level 7 tokens for Gnar. So all I need is keyfragment. But I won't get anymore of it. I play Gnar alot and I get all the time S, S+, S-. But I won't be able to get any keyfragment. Any suggestions? Thanks.
The grade that you get has no effect on whether a key fragment will drop. They will only drop if you actually win the game, but the chance of them dropping is completely random, it's never guaranteed. You can raise the chances of one dropping by playing in a premade party, but that's about all you can do.
Also, every time you get a key fragment, the drop chance for the next one is lowered, making them rarer and rarer the more you get. This does reset on a monthly basis, but it's not just the beginning of each month, it's relative to you and when you get your first key fragment at the original drop chance.
Getting a key fragment is pure RNG after you win a game. It has nothing to do with grade of a champion you get at the end or the level of the champion. The rate of which you get keys does lower the more you get and the % will reset after a 30 day time frame.
Also if you need blue essence or a champion shard they did add the RP/IP sink for the random champion shard.
