Ranked wont work unless I have a que timer

Hey, so today is the start of the new season. Naturally, you nonstop until you are able to see your rank and league. I was preparing for it all this week and everything by going and just practicing in normals (I'm not that good) and I never had any connectivity issues since I came back to the game a little while ago. However, I went and opened up ranked for the first time in a long time today and the started a game. That first game I waited in the loading screen for a solid 6 minutes. I have had long ques before and it was showing that other players hadn't completely loaded in yet. Then all of a sudden it crashed and I had to open up the client again. Turns out I never connected (even though it said I was at a 100% loading) and then gave me a loss immediately placing me in the lowest iron as well as giving me a 20-minute waiting que. So I went to riot support and attempted to fix it. I did what it said like close the client and then retrying. I tried it with the next game and it did the same thing giving me the same result. So I tried closing it again and it worked for the 20 minute que times. I was finally able to play and waste a large amount of my time. I got all the way through my ranked games with the 20 minute que time winning 4 and losing 1 placing me at my last game. I was able to start it right away as I no longer had a 20 minute que time. And that game, I didn't connect they remade, and I was placed Iron 2 as a result. I went 4-4 with 3 of my losses coming from connectivity issues of the game.

So I guess how can I prevent this stuff from happening again. Cause it is EXTREMELY annoying and aggravating. Please help me.
