Unable to ban a champion in ranked queue

So I don't know if it was just a one time thing or not but I was just in ranked champ select during ban phase I was unable to ban a champion I had one selected but the ban button was blacked out and lead to me dodging queue with a notification along the lines of "there was a problem selecting your champion". I did look and make sure the champion I had selected was not already banned aswell.
