I recently started playing lol and i finally got one of my champs to mastery lvl 5, since then i have received 1 S- score and 2 S scores while playing TT, but i received no mastery token? Are these only achievable while playing SR?

For whatever illogical reason, yes. Champ mastery tokens for 6/7 are only available from normal and ranked classic Summoner's Rift.
Fenıx3 votesThanks, i did a bit of research and found an article where it states you can only get tokens in Summoner's Rift, but it was from 2016 so thought it might have changed.
I agree it makes no sense, i mean Twisted Treeline has ranked games, so why is it not viable to get tokens like that? Obviously if it has ranked games it is seen as a proper game mode unlike ARAM or any of the other event game modes which is basically just luck of the draw.
I mainly play TT with my wife and brother-in-law, so if one of us has a bad game we just write it off and move on, whereas in SR if i have a bad game i would ruin it for 4 other people :/
Minarde2 votesThe most absurd point to me about these tokens was when Riot was changing up their data API restrictions for third-party devs some time ago. For a while, Normal SR was considered serious/competitive enough for Mastery tokens, but too casual for visible player stats. Meanwhile, Ranked TT was considered serious/competitive enough for visible player stats, yet too casual for Mastery tokens.
