Black screen before champion select

This is infuriating. I am trying to join games. I get the match found message, select accept to start the game. After all players are found, the screen goes black. Then I get kicked for not selecting a champion in the appropriate amount of time.

Trouble is; I was playing this morning and everything was fine then. So the issue is most definitely not on my end.

If a player is going to get penalized for not selecting a character in time before a game, then this kind of issue needs to disappear.
