Inability to ping with OS X Yosemite

I recently upgraded my Mac to OS X Yosemite and now my in-game pings aren't working correctly. When I hold down G and the wheel to select a type of ping comes up the cursor goes straight to the bottom of the screen and will only let me ping for assistance. I found a work around if you go to settings and set to windowed mode and then back to full screen mode the bug is resolved but this has to be done for every single game and is a bit of a nuisance. Typing MIA or SS in chat is more time consuming and without the audio/mini map icon of a ping often goes unnoticed leading to roaming ganks from lanes that could have been avoided. Several other summoners have reported this same problem in-game that I have chatted with and a timely fix would be SUPER appreciated.
