Yi Smite bug

Noticed last night while jungling Yi, if I combo an Alpha strike and a smite onto a jungle creep, the new buff doesn't get applied on to Yi.

My case in particular, I smited then immediately Alpha'd the Gromp, got no buff. Playing around with it through the rest of the game I noticed that alpha then smite is fine, or delaying my initial combo was fine. But I think that when you alpha after you smite and the buff is "traveling" to you, Alpha for some reason makes it unable to apply to you. Not a huge deal but can be annoying.
