Possible bug caused by the removal Akali's last hit assistance?

Hello RIOT'er,

In the patch notes of 8.22 I saw that you guys removed Akali's last hit assistance. Although I am not too sure what this entails, I have noticed a remarkably buggy gameplay change whenever I play Akali now.

It's namely her autoattack after proccing her passive. A lot of the times now, it feels like her passive reactivates her autoattack countdown. This leads to me not being able to auto-attack (particulary) a champion afterwards at alld. Akali just keeps either walking around her target, swinging her passive around aimlessly, or sometimes even freezes completely not moving at all, or she hits a non-champion target next to the enemy champion.

But even when I do my best to wait a while, and let the auto-attack timer reset, by the time I have the chance again to land the autoattack, the empowered damage doesn't proc on the enemy champion, as if the timer on the opportunity had passed.

This happened to me so many times while playing against bots as well while playing her in ARAM today. For the life of me, this "bug" kept me from killing the opposing champions so many times. And during a big teamfight where I need to land that auto-attack, it literally felt as if this bug was stunning me / making me useless in front of the enemies, putting me on a silver platter for them to kill me.

I really wonder if the change in Akali is what you guys intended to achieve with this patch, or if this is simply a bug. Because, the biggest damage of Akali comes from passive. So, if this becomes this tedious to pull off, then I really don't see Akali to be a satisfying champion to play anymore.

I really hope you can tell me that this is a bug. I look forward to your response.

Greets,

OneReality

"Last-hit assistance" is something Riot usually does when they adjust a champion's auto attack damage that gives you a tiny threshold where if you bring a minion down to that threshold or lower without killing it, it gives you the kill. For example, Akali had a last-hit assistance of 4. This means if she auto'd a minion and brought it down to 4 HP or less, the minion would die anyway. They do this as a sort of training wheels for when they make big changes, and they slowly dial the threshold back as people get accustomed to the new damage value.

Changing this shouldn't have had any effect on Akali's passive proc or attacking champions at all, so if it is a bug, it's likely unrelated to the last-hit assistance.
