Me and friend couldn't see champ select and got banned

This happened two times all we could see was the menu bar at the top and the friends list, everything else was black. We could hear the countdown in the champ select but couldn't see it or click on anything. Got temporarily punished for 5 and then 15 minutes.

Edit: Seems a lot of others have the same problem
