Losing a game due to client mismatch

So do I actually get a loss prevented or a straight loss due to the client being broken, allowing me to join the champ select and pick a champion like there is no problem at all and then when it's time for the loading screen i just get a black screen and and an error message which states that there is a client and server mismatch?
