Bug with Scrying Orb upgrade (Farsight Orb)

I main adc and I always buy the upgraded blue trinket, which gives vision of a small area and places a ward for 60 seconds. Some games however, after I have purchased the upgrade it gives me the vision but does not place down the ward and does not fade out gray like it is on cooldown. I try to use it again with no luck. The way i have to fix it is to buy another upgraded trinket like the Greater Stealth for ex. and then buy the Farsight orb back again and its fixed. That is 150 gold though I should not have to spend. If anyone else is expiencing this problem please help!!!
