Champ Select Bugging out

When in character select, I was waiting for my team mate to select a champ in ranked solo/duo and the timer hit 0 but he hadn't selected then 5 secs later it glitches and is cancelled because I didn't select a champ but I didn't get the full amount of time or have a prompt to select.... sorry about this but its happened and I don't want it to happen again because now I'm waiting an extra 5 mins so I can find another game because of the cooldown. please fix?

Yeah, yesterday I had selected my champ, and then the champ select froze, supposedly disconnected me even though my connection was fine for everything else. Then it closed to open the game window, I figured it was fixed and was a graphical error. Then it failed to connect, I left, it look several minutes to get to the reconnect screen, and by the the time I was finally connecting they remade it and I took a penalty.
