I believe Rammus' ability that gives him extra armor/thornmail ability cancels the taunt.

AH I wasn't dreaming. I faced a Rammus yesterday, and whenever he used E, my champion wouldn't be taunted for like 1 second (the thing saying "taunted" would still be playing), but the taunt would only work afterwards
