Really terrible way of losing LP to someone who knows about this bug. The zed claimed that the bug has been around for a long time and is still not addressed.

ive seen people burn flash to sneak into the enemy base and auto the person who failed to connect, dying to the fountain laser (and executing of course) just to force this bug. Its not even reportable afaik

But then again, disconnecting offers 0 incentive to return to the game as you'll lose LP anyway (do you still gain MMR if you win? Who knows.)
