HALP CHAT POOF!

So I have seen many many many posts about this but my problem is "special" for some reason -.- yay me... but anyways yes I have tried to find the file chat.ini and delete it, I have gone through every patches and updates data and looked for it and didn't find it.. so I thought okay! let's try the other option I spectated a friend minimized all my hud extended my chat... well even pressing z/enter did nothing! so if that's not the case... then da 'ell happened to my chat?! HALP! (probably the work of the demon D': )
