Scanning files for ages (AGAIN!)

Last 10(ish) updates or so, I've had to wait there for 30 mins (at the least, sometimes I've needed 1 hour or so) while my game scans 5000+ files. The moment it gets to 33% I'm left there waiting for ages and it's incredibly frustrating. Patches that usually take people 30 secs (like the one released today) will take me absolutely ages and it's really getting on my nerves now >:( .

I'm a sad mummy, please someone help me!
