I remember when we went for Sierra to High Sierra. I updated thinking, "Oh neat, a new MacOS update, I should get that and stay current!" I never thought about how much Riot evidently doesn't care about Mac users.
For months, League, sometimes every other/third game, sometimes 4 times per game, would consistently crash and in support tickets and elsewhere, Riot's official answer to fix the problem was...
- Revert to a previous MacOS (Sierra) because High Sierra (out for probably 5-9 months before the issue was fixed) was causing the problem
OR
- Use a Windows OS [either different machine or bootcamp, they don't mind which one :^) ]
...and to not play ranked to avoid leaving games/losing LP while the problem persisted. Small indie company btw. Probably just doesn't have the resources to make sure the multi-OS compatible game runs on multiple OSs.
For that reason, I'm still on High Sierra all these months later because I didn't trust that Riot would fix any bugs. I usually use this phrase where it clearly doesn't apply (banging my face on a wall instead of flashing over it) for comedic effect, but "Thanks, Riot."
Thank you for coming to my TedRant
